Motorcyclist clocked at 185MPH flees police and crashes.

Ocala, FL (June 24, 2009) - Local troopers say Davall Montrell Pinkelton was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center with serious injuries to his left arm. Officials say the 26-year-old is expected to have surgery on his arm and will be transported to the Marion County Jail.

Pinkelton will be charged with reckless driving, resisting without violence, habitual traffic offender, felony fleeing and eluding and no motorcycle endorsement.

The 2009 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle that he was riding sustained an estimated $1,000 in damages, and was impounded by troopers.

Sumter County troopers say close to 10 a.m., Trooper Miguel Cendan clocked the motorcycle doing 185 mph in a 70 mph zone northbound on I-75 by Mile Marker 332. Troopers attempted to stop the speeding motorcyclist, but were unsuccessful.

At one point, troopers say they lost sight of the speeding bike but radioed other law enforcement and asked them to be on the lookout for it.

The Florida Highway Patrol spotted the motorcyclist getting off I-75 at State Road 200, heading east.

With speeds briefly reaching 100 mph, they gave chase until the biker struck a concrete curb at the northeast corner of SR 200 and Southwest 20th Court and crashed.

Pinkelton was ejected from the motorcycle. Apparently unfazed by the crash, the man fled and was eventually caught by law enforcement officials.

No law enforcement officials were injured during the chase. More charges may be pending, officials say.
